Last week Google announced that they would no longer be developing or supporting Google Notebook among other projects. If you are like me you went into panic mode. Even though Google is saying that they are not going to pull the plug on Notebook real soon the Firefox browser plug-in that I have grown to love and use everyday will be no more. So I went out looking for alternatives to Google Notebook and found a couple but the one I really like is Zoho Notebook. And their annoucement today of an updated Firefox plug-in update really seals the deal for me. Once installed it functions very much the same as Google Notebooks does with a few extras. Additionally if you are like me and have many Google Notebooks and were trying to figure a good way to get all that hard work moved and saved then you are in luck additionally Zoho announced today that they were taking things a further step and putting together a quick and easy way to transfer your information from one service to another with a few clicks. Here is how to do just that: How to import Google Notebook to Zoho? You can do this import very easily in just a few steps. - Install Zoho Notebook Helper Firefox extension
- Once installed, login to Zoho Notebook (you can even use your Google login)
- Also login to Google Notebook.
- Go to this url chrome://zoho-notebook/content/g2z.html
- Hit the Start link
- That’s it.
And here is what you should see. The whole process took no time at all for me to move all my files over. Stay tuned to find out if this online application is as friendly and useful as Google Notebook has been. Labels: Firefox, Google
